Students participating in the Galileo Technic program will learn how to problem-solve from a
mechanical engineering perspective, using new math and physics skills. Students work in groups to
enhance their building skills by constructing complex models. Galileo Technic provides an
advanced level of thematic study, implementing mechanical engineering principles through
building exciting models. In every lesson, students will build a new machine for which they have
analyzed all aspects of its operation (e.g. the gear ratios). Students will graduate the Galileo
Technic program with new skills and a greater understanding of mechanical engineering principles.

Overview of Galileo Technic Curriculum:
The Galileo Technic curriculum builds upon the introductory level math, physics and engineering
that was taught in the Bricks Challenge program. Students will learn new engineering terms and
principles in the Galileo Technic program. Galileo Technic teaches engineering mechanisms such as:
multi-channel transmission systems, mechanical coordination, the movement of a body on a
rotational axis, the center of gravity and the fulcrum, different ratchet implementations, energy
depletion, recycling, limited transmission belt implementations, and more.
Galileo Technic Program Objectives:
Encourage independent and creative thinking
Develop the ability to analyze engineering processes
Acquire engineering implementation skills
Expand problem-solving skills
Provide general knowledge of laws of physics and various natural phenomena
Progress sense of self-efficacy and time management
